Leh is the Largest and main city and now capital of Ladakh Union Territory. Earlier Ladakh region was a part of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. But now after becoming a Center Ruled Union Territory Ladakh is having its own state administration. Once the historical capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh is one the main administrative centres of Ladakh. The city is located on the bank of the River Indus at an High altitude of 11,500 Metres. Leh city landscape is mainly dominated by high mountains and blue sky. What makes it special is that it is Surrounded by many high altitude passes, which makes Leh a perfect destination for tourists and bikers. It is also referred to as a cold desert.

Exploring Leh City. Nowadays tourism is also developing as a big industry resulting in addition of a source of income for locals. Earlier due to harsh terrain and poor road conditions tourists hesitated to visit Leh. But now by improved road conditions and improved air connectivity Number of tourists has increased significantly.

City itself is very developed and provides all the facilities and comfort for the locals and tourists. Big hotels, schools, good restaurants and hospitals, leh is becoming a perfect destination for family vacations also.
