Kasol is a beautiful hamlet on the banks of parvati river in Kullu district Himachal Pradesh. Just 30 KM from bhuntar in parvati valley is a perfect place to spend some time in peace with nature. Kasol is one of those hill stations which is accessible throughout the year. Covered by a dense forest of Pine trees and lush green forest, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature at its best. Parvati river adds a majestical view to the valley.  Also referred as Mini Israel of India due to a high percentage of Israeli tourists visiting Kasol and nearby areas.

Kasol is renowned for both its culture and the serene environment of the area. Hippie culture is a particularly well-known aspect of Kasol. Additionally, close to Kasol is the renowned Gurudwara Shri Manikaran Sahib, which is well-known for its hot water spring. Additionally, Lord Shiva devotees can be found in the valleys and mountains. The followers are drawn to the Shiva temple and the nearby Parvati valley.

But for some reason the main town is  more noisy with a large number of tourists, late night parties, loud music which disturb the peace of the town.it is a good place for the person who loves to party. For me as a peace lover I always prefer to stay in a place which is less crowded.Its all depends upon the person how he spends his vacation. Kasol offered everything from a peaceful environment to entertaining evenings.

Weather in Kasol


Kasol enjoys wonderful weather all year long. The summers will be enjoyable, while the winters will bring you satisfying snowfall. Kasol’s weather is delightful in every season.

The Kasol’s monsoon season is simply wonderful. The valleys along the Parvati river are covered in thick flora, creating a beautiful landscape.But always be prepared for landslides and flooding like in the monsoon. I prefer to avoid visiting Kasol in the month of july.

otherwise the entire year had pleasant weather. It’s only that the wintertime lows could be as low as 0 to -1 degrees. But it has its own charm, the whole valley is covered with snow.

How to reach Kasol ?


By Road Transport

The best method for travelling to Kasol is by road. Delhi and Kasol are separated by about 565 KM. It will probably take 12 hours. After leaving Chandigarh, you will reach a green area where hills will follow you the entire way. With the addition of music, your journey will take on a true life of its own.The state of the roads is also excellent. It’s definitely a vacation worth taking.

By Train

Joginder Nagar Railway Station, located 144 KM from Kasol, is the closest railway station.One can reach Kasol in 4-5 hours. When you arrive at the station, you can immediately order a taxi.

Another option is to travel from Delhi  to Chandigarh via Shatabdi Express in the early morning and arrive there before 11 AM. You can hire a taxi or cab after arriving in Chandigarh to get to Kasol.

By Air

The Nearest airport to Kasol is at Bhuntar and is located 31 KM away. There are, however, a few flights available to Bhuntar from Delhi. Chandigarh Airport, which is located 295 KM away, is the other airport in the area. If you choose to travel this way, you can reserve a taxi at the Bhuntar airport, and you will be in Kasol in about an hour.

Undoubtedly, walking and going on foot are the greatest ways to experience Kasol. You may explore hikes, excursions, and treks. Enjoy the peace and quiet close to the Parvati river’s bank. Even though there are roads for cars, it is strongly advised that you walk instead because it is the best option in every manner.

Manikaran

The jewel of Manikaran is the magnificent gurudwara, which is found in the Parvati Valley on the banks of the river Parvati. It is a significant place of pilgrimage for both Sikhs and Hindus visiting this region. Travellers from near and far are drawn to this place for the religious ceremonies, hot springs, natural steam baths, and stunning scenery.

It is believed that Guru Nanak Dev ji visited this place along with Mardana. Mardana was tasked with gathering the requisite flour and pulses to prepare a respectable lunch for the populace. When Mardana came back, he had removed the stone that Guru Nanak had been seated on, and the hot spring suddenly burst forth. Using the spring as assistance, he prepared and served the dinner. 

Many individuals still boil their food by keeping it submerged in spring water.

The famous Shiva sculpture is made of stone and is located at the Shiva Mandir in Manikaran. The edifice has a very mysterious feel to it because of the cloudy perspective caused by the steam rising from the hot springs.

Parvati Valley

Chalal Village

You may reach the picturesque village of Chalal by walking for 30 minutes from Kasol, over a cable suspension bridge over the Parvati River, and walking through magnificent pine trees. If you go between May and October, there will be celebrations. It is renowned for hosting some of the trendiest trance parties; the Magica Festival, which takes place in the early summer, is the main attraction. The village is a favourite among campers, environmental enthusiasts, and birdwatchers on calmer days.

Rasol Village

Village Rasol is famous for both the locally made hash known as Rasol Cream and Rasol’s natural beauty. Visitors can soak in the surrounding nature, go hiking on the neighbouring trails, and smoke if they so like. The three to four hour walk upwards from Chalal through alpine forests, rivulets and rhododendron trees required to reach here is quite the trip.

Tosh Village

Many adventurers climb up to the village, but you can also take a taxi from Kasol to get there in about an hour. Take a stroll among the apple orchards and verdant pastures, go birdwatching and stop by the hippy cafes to savour Israeli and Indian cuisine. Naturally, staying in shape is also on the agenda, as there are numerous lovely hiking trails across the mountains nearby.

Kutla

The Village is the ideal destination if you’re searching for a less crowded but equally lovely substitute for the busier Tosh. The distance from Tosh is only two miles. The initial part of the trek is rather simple. But after passing the Tosh River and some impressive waterfalls, the trail steepens and becomes a difficult uphill hike. It’s simple to spend one or two days here hiking through the Budhavan Forest, discovering the apple tree plantations, relaxing in the quaint cafe, or taking in the calm and quiet by the riverbed. 

Pulga, Tulga And Kalga

Three sister villages, Pulga, Tulga, and Kalga, are situated close to one another and are only accessible on foot. The ideal place to start your journey is Pulga, a leisurely 2-mile ascent from Barshaini. Malana Village

Deo Tibba and Chandrakhani Peaks encircle the settlement, giving it a lovely appearance. To reach here, take a taxi from Kasol to Malana Gate, then walk for about a mile, passing the bridge over the Malana River, and then going through the hamlet along the charming riverside route.

Kheerganga

A famous trek from Kasol.It is a four- to five-hour climb. From Kasol, you can go to Barshaini by bus or cab and then start the trek. You will pass through old villages, tranquil rivers, and dense forests on the hike from Barshaini to Kheerganga. Additionally, you’ll come upon a tranquil waterfall where you can take a break. Once you arrive there, you’ll not only be rewarded with a surreal view of the surroundings, but you can also cool off in the hot springs that are naturally positioned at the top. Men and women have their own bathrooms.
