Munsiyari
A small village in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand is the first love of many tourists all over India. Valley Of Flowers
In 1931 three British mountaineers discovered this amazing place in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand. Spread on over 87 Square Km, the Valley of Flowers National Park is a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in India. As the name suggests It is famous for many Exotic flowers like orchids, poppies, primulas, marigolds, daisies and anemones (around 600 species).Joshimath is the nearest town and to reach the valley is a 17 kilometre trek. At an altitude of 3658 Metres the view is worth witnessing for every nature lover.
Best Time To Visit-From September to October. Avoid travelling during Monsoon. It is covered in snow in winters and is not accessible in winters.
Only way to reach the Valley of flowers is by a 17 Km moderate trek.
Jim Corbett National Park
It is the first wildlife National park established in India in 1936 by Britishers in Uttarakhand state. The park is spread over 520 square Km comprising an area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grasslands and a large lake and is the first covered under save tiger project. At an altitude from 1300 ft to 4000 ft this park is natural habitat to around 110 types of trees, 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.
Best Time To Visit – October to June is the best Time to explore Jim Corbett and February to June is the best time to see tigers.
How to reach Jim Corbett National park- Jim Corbett is connected by a well paved road and is around 270 Km from New Delhi.
Haridwar
It is an important and ancient Hindu pilgrimage city located on foothills of himalayas in Uttarakhand. It is famous for its Temples and ghats located on banks of holy river Ganga. Being one of the oldest living cities Haridwar has a rich and ancient religious and cultural heritage. Many tourists and travellers visit Haridwar every year to explore their spirituality and learn yoga. Apart from many Temples and ashrams, Haridwar is also famous for its Ganga Arti on Har ki Pauri and other ghats.
